Some of the popular online baby stores have expanded to offline by setting up physical shop, on the other way around Toysrus.com.my has been transformed from corporate website to online store in November 2015.
We remember Littlewhiz.com, Mybbstore.com etc. were market leaders a few years ago, but they haven't pulled away amidst new market entrances in recent years.
Of course, we are excluding the e-marketplace portion here and bench-marking own branded store traffic here. The average visits of top 10 kids & baby stores in Malaysia is only 10,800, not even 10% of fashion stores (182,500).
This proves that no one has yet to put in a serious effort in this segment at least in terms of online traffic (which translates into sales!), thus there is no distinct market leader yet till date.
This is clearly a category with a lot of room for improvement and opportunity!
