ecInsider (previously known as eCommerceMILO) is not the conventional online media site operated by full-time writers, but the content here is mostly written by the founders themselves, namely CK Wong and Adrian Oh, who are also entrepreneurs running their respective businesses.

Rolling back the years, Adrian contacted CK via his old blog, then they arranged to meet in 2009. They met on the same day when Amazon acquired Zappos, also during the years when e-commerce was not a buzzword yet here. Filled with the mutual interest and passion on e-commerce, they immediately clicked and became good friends since then.

It was only until 2013 when eCommerceMILO is started, after a phone call between the founders. The phone call was mainly to discuss the overall direction and brainstorm the brand name. Why eCommerceMILO? MILO stands for "Made In LOcal", nothing to do with that beverage brand. Within a week from the call, eCommerceMILO was officially launched on 20 May 2013 with this article. In May 2017, eCommerceMILO has been officially rebranded to ecInsider.

How are we different? Truth be told, there aren't many entrepreneurs who write (serious articles) especially in this part of the world, and here we have two entrepreneurs who share insights and analysis with their years of hands-on experience in Internet and e-commerce industry. Hopefully, their sharing via the content could benefit readers from fellow entrepreneurs, business owners, working professionals to students.

It is not easy to consistently operate an online content site for years, besides the obvious passion, this is made possible by the founders' respective business platforms. While Adrian is the co-founder of an online shopping cart platform, CK is the founder of a digital marketing agency in Malaysia.
